About

Merve Kahraman was born in Tekirdag, Turkey (b. 1997). She is living in central of London and currently working in her studio, continue contemporary and digital artworks. She completed Tekirdag Fine Art School Art Department in 2015. She graduated undergraduate degree in Art Teacher and Printmaking from the Dokuz Eylul University in 2019. In 2022 she completeded a Masters Degree in Painting departmant at Dokuz Eylul University Education Institute. She participated to many national & international group exhibitons, she presented symposium and conference in academic field. She adopted abstract figurative works with mixed media on surface.

On Merve Kahraman Practice

She get inspired from people and nature. She is using on her practice acrylic, oil painting, printmaking, watercolours, ink and digital platforms. Inspired by figures and emotions, the artist uses contrasting colors to reflect expressions. While painting unrecognizable abstract figures as vectorel, she is also allows the paint to flow on surface. While embarking on an uncertain journey, she follows the traces created by the colors on the surface, thus establishing a mental and emotional bond.
